Bernadette Peters

 Bernadette Peters, nee Lazzara was born on 28 February the 28th of February, 1948. She is an American singer, actress and author of children's books. Over a career spanning over six decades she's appeared in musical theatre, television and film, as well as performed in her own concerts, and released recordings. A highly acclaimed Broadway performer she has won seven Tony Awards nominations, winning two (plus an honourary award) and nine Drama Desk Award nominations. She received three. Grammy Awards have been won in four of the Broadway cast albums that she has appeared in.



 



 The most admired by many as one of the greatest interpreters of the works of Stephen Sondheim. She is recognized for her performances on the Broadway stage, which includes the musicals Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (1984), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods (1987), The Goodbye Girl (1993), Annie Get Your Gun (1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2010), Follies (2011), and Hello, Dolly (2018).
